Summary

Katy graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing from the Frontier Nursing University in 2013. She received her Bachelors in Nursing from Gonzaga University and Washington State University Consortium in 2006. She worked in high risk obstetric units in both Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Spokane, Washington prior to becoming a Certified Nurse-Midwife. From this experience she has a calm, experienced approach to any obstetrical situation. Katy has also worked as a Pharmacy Technician and brings pharmacological experience and expertise to our practice. Katy completed her internship at Kootenai OB/GYN and became a member of the midwifery team in 2013.Katy and her husband moved from Spokane, Washington to Coeur d’Alene and are happy to be a part of this community. She enjoys playing with her two young sons, cooking, watching crime dramas and her two kitties.

Had a great experience with the kootenai obgyn, particularly the midwives. Each midwife is knowledgeable, kind, and understanding. If you can, use them for your prenatal care and birth. I had my second totally unmedicated, like I had wanted, due to their encouragement and help. I’m going through them again with my third.

After being a patient of this office for 15 years and not being understood, I finally felt heard. It's a shame it took that long. But thank God, they finally listened to me and believed me and gave me the medications i need. They also set me up with preventative possibly life saving procedures that I wasn't mentally able to call and set up for myself. I appreciate that more than anyone will ever know.

Katy provided exactly what I was looking for in my second birth. Supportive and provided her guidance when needed to help me have the unmedicated birth I wanted. Her demeanor was calm and quiet which put me and my husband at ease.

Katy is very kind, professional, and caring. She doesn't overlook things and listens to any concerns her patients have. The appointments never feel rushed either, which I greatly appreciate.

This was my first time meeting Katy, she was WONDERFUL, patient, inquisitive and gave me some extra time to get to know me. It was very much appreciated, and all other staff at the clinic were pleasant and professional.
