Services
Kootenai Health’s Rehabilitation Services provides a broad spectrum of treatments and condition-specific programs to help patients achieve the highest quality of life. Here are some of the foundations of our practice:
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is a vital aspect of rehabilitation because it restores movement and function. Our physical therapists provide services to patients and clients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. They provide prevention and wellness services, including screening and health promotion.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists use purposeful activity or interventions designed to promote health, prevent injury or disability, and which develop, improve, sustain or restore the highest possible level of independence. Occupational therapy may be needed following illness, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, developmental or learning disability, physical disability or other disorder or condition.
Speech Therapy
Our speech-language pathologists can help patients who have a difficult time thinking, communicating, remembering and swallowing. Our therapists have advanced training in the areas of cognition, speech disorders, aphasia, swallowing and voice disorders.
Pediatric Therapy
Our pediatric therapy program offers comprehensive evaluation and treatments for children from birth to age 21. All programs are customized to highlight the child’s functional goals during the therapy session, which can then be carried on at home and at school.
