Kootenai Health is pleased to announce a branding update for Kootenai Urgent Care. Kootenai Urgent Care has been part of Kootenai Health for many years, first as a joint venture then as a wholly owned service line. Beginning today, it will move from its red medical cross to Kootenai Health’s blue and green “spark”. The name will remain Kootenai Urgent Care.
This announcement closely follows both Kootenai Health and Kootenai Urgent Care’s transition to the Epic electronic health record. Both organizations along with all Kootenai Clinic practices, Kootenai Outpatient Imaging, Kootenai Outpatient Surgery, and others are now on one connected electronic health record. This means care providers can now see patients’ complete medical records more easily. It also means patients can easily access all their medical record information from any Kootenai Health location in the MyChart health record portal on their computer or smart phone.
Having a common electronic health record among all facilities will also make billing easier to see and understand. Patients will receive one monthly statement that will include charges from any Kootenai Health entity, including Kootenai Urgent Care, which they may have visited in the prior month.
Kootenai Urgent Care will be changing to the new logo and colors as soon as possible, but some things, such as the large, external signs on the buildings will take longer to update than other things such as the website. Similar to the large, red “Emergency” sign by Kootenai Health’s emergency department, large, external building signs for Kootenai Urgent Care will remain red to make it easier for patients to know where to go for urgent care.
Kootenai Urgent Care is open seven days a week for minor emergencies. You can easily get in line from your computer or smart phone to help reduce in-office wait times. Patient information regarding the care you receive will be available in MyChart and accessible to your other care providers.
