Welcome to Kootenai Health’s Respite Care program.
The respite care program is a community-based program for the respite needs of families and caregivers who are caring for adults with disabilities or seniors (ex. traumatic brain injury, dementia, stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, Alzheimer’s, etc.)
Our program offers safe, part-time care for adults and seniors while their caregiver is unavailable or attending to other duties. Staff is specially trained in caring for the mental and medical needs of participants while providing activities that engage their interest and help reduce social isolation.
An intake packet is available during normal business hours or can be mailed to homes. Visitors are welcome to stop in for a tour. Please note, an intake evaluation is required prior to admittance. To schedule an evaluation, please call (208) 625-5353.
Our respite care program is available for drop-in or daily care to meet the caregiver’s need for respite and the tolerance level of the participant.
