Kootenai Health is an expanding 330 bed hospital that is a community-owned, Magnet-designated facility located in the Pacific Northwest. We are continually growing, creating new roles, and implementing best evidence-based practices to ensure optimal healthcare services and outstanding care for our patients.
To meet the demands of our growing hospital, our Critical Care team is expanding and we recently launched a state of the art ECMO Program and revamped our Critical Care Rapid Response Program.

Growth at Kootenai Health
Aspiring Nurse Leader Program is program for employees in a nursing role that are ready to move their career to the next level and would like to develop leadership skills. The 3 chosen candidates are put through a nine-month training program and also partnered with a nurse manager mentor to help them through the program.
Nursing Excellence Program is a ladder program for employees that have been employed for at least 6 months and have one year of nursing experience. This program encourages nurses to grow professionally and to be recognized and rewarded financially for advancing their practice and improving organizational outcomes related to safety, compassion and engagement.
Continuing Education is encouraged at Kootenai Health and we value your desire to grow. If you want to further your education we have a variety of training courses offered for free through our Organization Development, we also offer tuition assistance, and department funding is allotted annually to assistant employees with specialty certifications and conference trainings.
