Summary
I believe every patient deserves compassionate, personalized care that addresses more than just a diagnosis. My goal is to care for the whole person by supporting their physical, emotional, and mental well-being throughout their cancer journey. I work closely with each patient and their loved ones to ensure they feel heard, informed, and supported every step of the way.
My path to oncology began right here at Kootenai Health, where I started my healthcare career as a certified nursing assistant on the oncology unit while earning my nursing degree. After becoming a registered nurse, I worked as an outpatient oncology nurse and earned my Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential. My passion for caring for patients with cancer inspired me to continue my education and earn my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. I was fortunate to complete my first oncology specialty rotation with Dr. Paul White and later return to Kootenai Health for my final clinical practicum before joining the Cancer Services team as an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP).
Having experienced thyroid cancer personally, I understand how overwhelming a cancer diagnosis can be. That perspective, combined with my years of oncology nursing experience, has strengthened my commitment to providing knowledgeable, compassionate care while helping patients navigate some of life’s most challenging moments.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Dirk, and our four children. We love visiting our local libraries, cheering on our kids at their activities, and spending time with our extended family, who all live nearby. I also enjoy reading and volunteering in the community through events such as the Ironman Medical Tent, Coeur d’Alene School District vision screenings, and the PTA.
