On the pavement of Kootenai Health Way, adjacent to Highway 95, big bold letters share an important message: “WE LOVE OUR HEALTH CARE HEROES.”
North Idaho College students spent hours spray painting the graffiti project, which is visible from the third floor COVID-19 units.
The idea came from a staff member who saw a family member hold a sign for a loved one and how much it inspired the patient and the staff.
“This project is a creative way to boost morale and tell our health care heroes how much we appreciate their dedication,” Chief Nursing Officer Joan Simon said. “When they look out of the windows of the COVID-19 units, they’ll be reminded they are loved and celebrated.”
