COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Kootenai Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Todd J. Holling, MS, BS, PMP, as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Holling, who has served as interim CIO since September 2025, officially assumes the permanent role following a successful leadership transition.
Holling brings more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience in health care IT, including roles at nationally recognized organizations such as University of Chicago Medicine, Northwestern Medicine, Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin, and University of Texas Health San Antonio. Most recently prior to joining Kootenai Health, he served as Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer for the University of Texas Health San Antonio, a $4.5 billion academic health system and National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center.
Throughout his career, Holling has led major enterprise technology transformations, including cloud migrations, enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations, Epic electronic medical record (EMR) optimization, digital innovation initiatives, and large-scale infrastructure projects. He is recognized for building collaborative, high-performing IT teams and for leveraging technology to improve both clinical and business outcomes.
Holling holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Decision Sciences and a Master of Science in Information Systems, both from the University of Illinois. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Six Sigma Green Belt and previously served as an executive officer in the United States Air Force.
