Summary
I believe patients are best able to improve their health when they understand their condition, the factors contributing to it, and the treatment options available to them. A key part of my role is providing education and guidance so patients can make informed decisions about their care. Whether the goal is prevention or treatment, I strive to help patients understand how lifestyle choices, risk factors, and medical conditions impact their long-term health.
Healthcare is most effective when it is a partnership. I take time to listen to each patient’s story, understand their goals and values, and develop individualized care plans that reflect their unique needs. While I provide expertise and recommendations, I believe patients should play an active role in decisions about their treatment.
I also believe that modern healthcare is a team effort, with the patient at the center. Close collaboration and communication with other healthcare providers help ensure patients receive the most comprehensive and effective care possible.
Respect is fundamental to every patient interaction. My goal is to explain conditions and treatment options clearly, including the option to decline treatment. While I may offer recommendations, I will always respect a patient’s preferences and right to make decisions about their own healthcare.
When developing treatment plans, I focus on providing effective, evidence-based care while avoiding unnecessary interventions whenever possible. I often look for opportunities to simplify treatment plans, reduce medications, and incorporate lifestyle changes that can improve long-term health outcomes.
I chose cardiology because of a lifelong fascination with the heart and its remarkable function. The rapid advances in cardiovascular medicine and the opportunity to help patients live healthier lives continue to make this field both exciting and rewarding.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and staying active outdoors through hiking, skiing, backpacking, and time at the lake. I also enjoy reading and am an avid sports fan.
