My approach to care is rooted in building genuine, trusting relationships with patients and treating them as active partners in their health. I take time to understand each patient’s unique situation, values, culture, and goals so care can be respectful, individualized, and meaningful. I believe patients make the best decisions when they feel heard, supported, and well informed, and I strive to create an environment where questions are encouraged and anxiety is reduced through clear communication and attentive listening.
I view healthcare as a collaborative process. Whether working directly with patients or coordinating with other providers, I prioritize continuity of care through strong communication, thoughtful referrals, and proactive identification of care gaps. When care is well coordinated, it supports a patient’s life rather than disrupting it, allowing treatment to feel integrated and manageable.
Respect is foundational to everything I do. I honor patient autonomy by centering their preferences and values in all discussions and decisions. My role is not to impose choices, but to provide guidance, education, and compassionate support so patients can confidently choose the path that aligns best with their lives.
When it comes to treatment planning, I focus on the least invasive and most effective options whenever possible. I believe successful care plans must be realistic and adaptable, fitting into a patient’s daily life and evolving as their needs change. Treatment is an ongoing partnership that requires flexibility, reassessment, and responsiveness over time.
I chose a career as a physician assistant because it allows me to work closely with patients, combine evidence-based medicine with education, and support both health and quality of life. My surgical specialty is especially fulfilling, as it allows me to guide patients through meaningful interventions, recovery, and a return to the activities they enjoy. Being part of that full journey reinforces my commitment to patient-centered, collaborative care.
Outside of work, I value staying active and connected through weightlifting, snowboarding, hunting, hiking, rafting, cooking, and spending time with my family. These interests help ground my perspective and remind me of the importance of living fully, which is ultimately what I strive to support in every patient I care for.
