Family Medicine OB & Newborn

Family medicine that grows with your family.

Pregnancy comes with a lot of new relationships—your OB, your baby's pediatrician, and a different primary care doctor after delivery. Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program offers a different approach with one physician and care team who supports you before pregnancy, throughout your prenatal care, during delivery, and long after your baby is born. That relationship continues with your child, caring for them through infancy, childhood, and beyond. Your family has one trusted physician care team who intimately knows your family’s health history and the journey you’ve shared together.

Behind that relationship is a collaborative team where resident physicians work alongside board-certified faculty physicians, combining the latest evidence-based training with years of clinical experience. Our care model is based on teaching and education so appointments are longer and more in-depth, giving you time to ask questions, understand your options, and guide informed decisions about your care.

Longer Appointments

More time for conversation
Because teaching is part of our care model, appointments allow more time to discuss your pregnancy, delivery, and newborn care.

Current Medical Training

Guided by experienced physicians
Resident physicians work alongside board-certified faculty physicians, bringing current medical training together with experienced guidance throughout your care.

More Than OB Care

Care that goes beyond delivery
Your care team includes access to behavioral health, social work, and substance use specialists, making it easier to connect with additional support if you need it.

Courtney’s Story

At 17 weeks pregnant, Courtney developed debilitating leg pain that left her bedridden. She saw two different OBs who said little else could be done outside of prescription pain meds. But her pain remained unendurable. It was during her third trip to the ER that she says Dr. Pryak saved her. Courtney had a severe herniated disc; Dr. Pryak went above and beyond to find a provider willing to perform surgery. Afterwards, her pregnancy continued without a hitch. Dr. Pyrak delivered her healthy son, and he continues to be in her care. Courtney says she is forever indebted to her and Kootenai.

“After receiving the amazing care I did, I immediately moved all of my family over to the Clinic, as did my mother.”
— Courtney Martin
“Every family is welcome here. We respect your beliefs, listen to your goals, and partner with you to create a care plan that's right for you and your family.”
