Visiting Hours
General Visiting Hours
Daily: 5 a.m.–8 p.m. thru our North Entrance
Quiet Hours
Daily: 1–3 p.m. to support rest and healing.
After-Hours Entry
Visitors arriving after 8 p.m. must enter through the Emergency Department entrance on the south side of the hospital. Exterior hospital doors are locked from 8 p.m.–4:30 a.m. for safety.

- Visiting hours and visitor limitations may vary by unit, patient condition or seasonal illness activity.
- Free valet parking is available during weekday business hours.

Before You Visit
To help support a safe and comfortable environment for patients:
- Please avoid visiting if you have a cold, fever, sore throat, rash or other contagious illness.
- Wash or sanitize your hands before entering and after leaving patient rooms.
- Children are welcome when accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
- Check with the care team before bringing gifts, flowers or outside food.
- Visitor restrictions may be implemented during flu season or periods of increased illness activity.
During Your Visit
Help us maintain a healing environment for patients and families by following these guidelines:
- Limit visitors to two people at a time unless otherwise directed by staff.
- Use quiet voices and keep televisions and personal devices at a low volume.
- Follow masking or protective equipment instructions when requested.
- Designate one primary contact person for communication updates when multiple family members or visitors are involved.
- Please be respectful of patient and staff privacy throughout your visit.

- Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hospital, and charging stations are located in public areas.

Campus Policies & Safety
Tobacco-Free Campus
Smoking or tobacco use, including e-cigarettes and vaporizers, is not permitted at Kootenai Health or Kootenai Clinic facilities.
Weapons Policy
Weapons and illegal substances are prohibited on Kootenai Health and Kootenai Clinic campuses. This includes firearms, knives and chemical sprays, even with a concealed carry permit.
Cell Phone Etiquette
Please silence cell phones in patient care areas and use quiet voices when speaking on the phone.
Latex Balloons
For patient safety, latex balloons are not permitted in the hospital.
Service Animals
ADA-approved service animals are welcome in unrestricted areas of the hospital. Handlers are responsible for the animal's care and control during their visit.
Pet Visitation
Patients may be eligible to receive visits from their adult dog while in the hospital. Please speak with the patient's primary nurse for approval and additional information.
