Meet Your Brain & Spine Experts
When a condition affects your brain or spine, you need more than one opinion—you need the right specialists working together. At Kootenai Health, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and rehabilitation experts coordinate every step of treatment around you.
Neurologists
Your neurologist typically starts by reviewing your history and symptoms to identify root causes. They will explain your results and coordinate next steps, whether for treatment, monitoring, or specialist referrals.
Neurosurgeons
Surgery is never the first conversation — but when it's the right next step, your neurosurgeon makes sure you understand what to expect throughout the process, and works closely with the rest of your team before, during, and after any procedure.
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialist
For patients living with the long-term effects of neurological conditions—spinal cord injury, brain trauma, MS, ALS, spasticity—our PM&R specialist is the only one in the region. This support happens alongside neurology and neurosurgery to help you manage symptoms, maintain function, and stay as independent as possible.
Advanced Practice Providers
Nurse practitioners and physician assistants are often who you'll hear from most. They coordinate appointments and referrals, answer questions as they come up, and make sure you always know where things stand.
