Laboratory Services

Laboratory Services

Fast, accurate lab testing—with four convenient locations across North Idaho.

At Kootenai Health, our laboratory supports testing services across the hospital and throughout the community. We perform testing for patients of all ages, including blood draws and other types of specimen collection (urine, stool, saliva, swabs, etc.). And when you check in, you'll always talk to a real person—not a kiosk.

With three locations in Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, and Hayden, in addition to our hospital outpatient lab, you have options to find a location convenient to you. All locations serve patients on a walk-in basis.

Our brand new chemistry automation line in our main lab improves efficiency and helps reduce the potential for human error, so you get results faster with improved accuracy.

We're growing to meet our community's needs—placing phlebotomists directly in outside local clinics to bring lab services closer to more patients, and adding new tests to our in-house menu every year.

24 Hours

Fast Results
Most tests are available within 24 hours through MyChart, unless sent to an outside lab.

4 Locations

Walk-In, No Wait
Four convenient locations throughout the region, so getting tested fits your schedule.

CAP Accredited

A Higher Standard
We're accredited by the College of American Pathologists — a higher bar than what's federally required.
“My son is nonverbal autistic. I informed the front desk, and both of the guys working were incredibly helpful and understanding. They were so nice to my son. The blood draw went better than I had expected, while they were prepared for the worst-case scenario!”

  • Drink plenty of water before your blood draw. Staying hydrated can make your veins easier to access.

  • Call the Lab at (208) 625-5858 to set up a time to drop the semen sample off.
  • Abstain for at least 2 to 7 days before submitting the specimen
