The youth acute program is a secure 26-bed facility for children and adolescents up to age 17. It provides a safe, structured environment designed to stabilize youth in severe crisis.
Our interdisciplinary team develops a treatment plan designed to meet the unique needs of each youth.
- Individualized interventions help participants develop the skills they need to manage their emotions, behaviors and symptoms.
- Group activities emphasize goal setting and building positive coping, social and life skills.
- Individual therapy helps deal with issues that impede healthy functioning.
- Academic needs are addressed through on-site school services.
Family involvement is an essential part of each child’s success. Families are encouraged to support the treatment process through visits, phone calls and letters. We also promote participation in family therapy and attendance at parent days so family members have an opportunity to learn basic behavioral approaches.
