Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN)

Reproductive health doesn’t stop at pregnancy. Neither do we.

Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN)

OB/GYN physicians for pregnancy, fertility, surgery, and high-risk conditions.

Heavy or irregular periods. Fertility questions. A pregnancy that needs closer monitoring. Hormonal changes that affect sleep, mood, and everyday life.

OB/GYN physicians at Kootenai Clinic support reproductive health at every stage of life. That includes routine visits such as annual exams and screenings, family planning and fertility evaluation, and gynecologic surgery when it’s needed, including procedures such as hysterectomy or tubal surgery.

Most visits happen at clinic locations across North Idaho, where OB/GYN physicians and certified nurse-midwives work together. If a pregnancy or condition becomes more complicated, your OB/GYN connects with Maternal-Fetal Medicine and other specialists.

Evidence-based Options

Benefits and risks explained
Your physician explains what the medical evidence shows and walks through the benefits and risks of each option so you can decide how to move forward.

Reproductive Medicine Specialists

Diagnosis, treatment, and surgery
OB/GYN physicians diagnose reproductive conditions, manage pregnancy, and perform surgery when it’s needed. As your needs change, you can stay with the same team.

Robotic Gynecologic Surgery

Smaller incisions, faster recovery
Some gynecologic procedures can be performed robotically, allowing surgeons to operate through small incisions with precise movements and often shorter recovery times.
“Our moms get to take care of themselves without missing a beat to take care of their families. Being able to get care that is specific to your needs locally with providers who love their community and running into you at the farmer's market on Saturdays is not something most of the country has access to.”
— Faith Krull, Certified Nurse Midwife

Kira’s Story

When planning for her second child’s birth, Kira thought her options were limited since her first had been born by cesarean. When her OB/GYN explained that she could choose a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), she was hesitant, but got the support she needed to overcome her fears. In the end, it became a wonderful experience—one that left her feeling comfortable, confident, and proud of how she brought her baby into the world.

“One thing that was really important to me was being able to give birth in a place that I knew was going to be prepped and ready for any dangers that might come.”
