Care Philosophy
My philosophy of care centers on listening, collaboration and individualized treatment. I believe the best care begins with understanding each patient’s concerns, questions, goals and what matters most to them. By combining evidence-based medicine with open communication, I work with patients to develop care plans that reflect their individual needs, values and priorities.
As a primary care physician, I strive to be a consistent and trusted partner throughout each patient’s health care journey. I take a comprehensive approach to treatment, considering preventive care, lifestyle changes, medications and other evidence-based options rather than relying on any single approach. I also regularly review medications and treatment plans to make sure they remain necessary, effective and aligned with each patient’s goals.
Continuity of care is especially important to me. I work closely with specialists and other health care professionals to coordinate care, support clear communication and help patients navigate their health needs across different settings. My goal is to build lasting relationships and empower patients to take an active role in their health.
I chose general internal medicine because it allows me to care for adults across a broad range of health needs while developing meaningful, long-term relationships with my patients. I value the opportunity to combine the science of medicine with patient advocacy and comprehensive, individualized care.
My family has been part of the Idaho community for generations, so beginning my career at Kootenai Health is especially meaningful to me. I completed medical school through the WWAMI program and previously worked at Kootenai Health during my undergraduate years. Outside of work, my husband and I have two active children, and we enjoy spending time together on the lake. I also enjoy hot yoga, reading, coffee and getting outdoors for hiking, biking and paddleboarding.
