Summary
I believe the best neurologic care begins with listening. Every patient has a unique story, and understanding their symptoms, experiences, goals, and concerns is often the most important step in reaching an accurate diagnosis and developing an effective treatment plan. I take the time to get to know my patients as individuals and encourage them to be active participants in their care.
I view the patient-provider relationship as a partnership built on communication, trust, and mutual respect. My role is to provide clear, evidence-based information and guidance so patients can make informed decisions that align with their personal needs and goals. I also encourage open discussions that include family members and loved ones when appropriate, recognizing that healthcare decisions often affect more than just the individual patient.
Neurology often involves a great deal of diagnostic investigation, but I have found that the patient’s history and neurologic examination frequently provide the most valuable clues. While advanced testing such as MRI, EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies can play an important role, I believe thoughtful listening and careful clinical evaluation remain the foundation of excellent neurologic care.
Because many neurologic conditions require ongoing management, continuity of care is essential. I prioritize communication not only with my patients but also with their primary care providers and other specialists to ensure treatment plans are coordinated, comprehensive, and effective. Whenever possible, I focus on the least invasive and most effective treatment options, regularly reviewing medications and exploring alternatives when appropriate.
What drew me to neurology was both the complexity of the nervous system and the diagnostic challenge it presents. I enjoy the detective work involved in identifying the underlying cause of neurologic symptoms and helping patients better understand their condition. My goal is to provide compassionate, personalized care that empowers patients and supports their long-term health and quality of life.
