Care Philosophy

My Relationship with My Patients

At the foundation of my care philosophy is taking time to get to know my patients. I want to understand their unique situations, so I encourage open, collaborative discussions so we can create individualized care plans based on their priorities.

I want my patients to feel heard, informed, and comfortable asking questions. Surgery can be overwhelming, and I believe patients deserve clear, honest explanations about their diagnosis, their options, and what to expect. My goal is to make sure each patient feels confident that we are making decisions together and that I am advocating for them throughout their care.

Vascular Care

Vascular disease often requires lifelong care, and I believe continuity is essential to achieving good outcomes. I want my patients to know that our care does not end after a procedure or surgery. I will follow their progress, address problems early, and work with the rest of their health care team to provide consistent care throughout their treatment and recovery.

Every patient deserves to feel heard and respected, especially when facing difficult decisions about their health. I take the time to listen, answer questions honestly, and explain options in a way that makes sense. My role is to provide my best clinical judgment while respecting that each patient ultimately knows what matters most to them and their life.

I believe treatment should fit the patient, not just the diagnosis. I consider the severity of their disease, overall health, and what is most likely to improve their outcome. I favor the least invasive, effective option when appropriate, but I also believe in being direct when surgery is the best option.

About Me

I’ve always been drawn to high-acuity, hands-on medicine. After many years in critical care and cardiology, vascular surgery felt like a natural fit. I enjoy the technical side of surgery, complex problem-solving, and being able to intervene in a way that can change a patient’s outcome.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, hiking, kayaking, photography, and traveling. I love being outdoors and exploring new places, whether close to home or somewhere completely new.
