Since 2003 he has been performing them at Kootenai Health. He started the cardiothoracic surgical program in 2003. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Western Thoracic Surgical Association.
In his spare time, Dr. Burnett enjoys spending time outside. He also enjoys music, refereeing and playing hockey.

Dr. Burnett is remarkable, I have had 35-50 physicians work on me around the country for a very complex the life-threatening condition, an emergent Aortic Dissection (the same condition John Ritter died from). Dr. Burnett preformed a very complex, emergency lifesaving surgery. Another nationally renowned surgeon that saw me said "he did just an exceptional job!" ... He did, and I know it! None of the great doctors that have worked on me were any better than Dr. Burnett, thanks again!!!

Dr Burnett is highly skilled, just what you want in a surgeon. He is also thorough in his explanations. I felt free to ask any questions and he took the time to consider them before replying. I highly recommend Dr. Burnett and his staff!!
