Dr. Burnett is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and has more than 20 years of experience performing cardiac and thoracic procedures. Since 2003 he has been performing them at Kootenai Health. He started the cardiothoracic surgical program in 2003. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Western Thoracic Surgical Association.

In his spare time, Dr. Burnett enjoys spending time outside. He also enjoys music, refereeing and playing hockey.
