I believe the best cardiac care begins with helping patients clearly understand their heart health and the factors that may be contributing to their condition. I take time to get to know each patient as an individual and work collaboratively with them to develop an evidence-based treatment plan that reflects their needs, preferences and goals. I want patients to understand not only what I recommend, but why I recommend it, so they can be active and informed participants in their care.

Whenever possible, I focus on the least invasive, most effective approach and work with patients to reduce risk factors through appropriate treatment, medication and lifestyle changes. Making those changes isn’t always easy, so I strive to provide encouragement and support without judgment. I also coordinate with other health care providers when needed to ensure comprehensive care. At the end of every visit, my goal is for patients to feel heard, respected, encouraged and valued, with their questions answered and a clear understanding of the next steps in their care.
