Summary
I believe exceptional healthcare begins with understanding each patient as a unique individual. I take time to learn about my patients’ experiences, values, cultural backgrounds, and goals so that we can work together to develop care plans that align with their needs and priorities. I encourage open, collaborative conversations and strive to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to participate in decisions about their care.
Compassion, empathy, and respect are at the center of my practice. I recognize that every patient brings different beliefs, experiences, and perspectives to their healthcare journey. My role is to provide guidance, education, and support while honoring each person’s values and choices. I also believe that healthy nutrition, regular physical activity, quality sleep, and strong social connections are essential components of overall physical and mental well-being.
My approach to treatment planning is rooted in evidence-based care and shared decision-making. In particular, I understand that treatment decisions during pregnancy can feel overwhelming for patients and providers alike. I am committed to staying current with the latest research and helping patients understand the risks, benefits, and alternatives associated with treatment options. While two patients with the same diagnosis may choose different paths, my goal is to provide clear, scientifically grounded information that allows each person to make informed decisions that align with their values. I strongly support bodily autonomy and every patient’s right to make decisions about their own healthcare.
Continuity of care is an important part of achieving the best outcomes. I work closely with patients and collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated, comprehensive approach to care. Together, we carefully consider the risks and benefits of treatment options, as well as the potential risks of untreated illness, to develop plans that support both immediate and long-term health.
Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including prehospital care, student health services, community mental health, inpatient psychiatry, ACT-team programs, and outpatient clinics. My passion is caring for women across the reproductive lifespan, from preconception and pregnancy through the postpartum period, helping them navigate important transitions with confidence and support.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains and on the water. I also love biking, dogs, and tackling a good puzzle.
