Summary
Dr. Schwalier grew up in an Air Force family and called Whidbey Island home throughout those years. He graduated from the University of Washington before beginning his own Air Force career. He retired after 25 years and was excited to move back to the Pacific Northwest to continue caring for patients. He is licensed in both Idaho and Nevada and is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
Dr. Schwalier earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Master’s degrees in both Public Administration and Managerial Economics. He completed his medical degree in Bethesda, Maryland, and served as the chief of the Hematology/Oncology Department at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center in Nevada for 12 years. He has extensive experience in caring for a broad spectrum of hematology and oncology patients and focuses on a whole-person approach to better support unique patient needs and ensure the best possible treatment.
Dr. Schwalier and his wife have four children and enjoy spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors.
