Summary
My approach to care is built on open communication, trust, and mutual understanding. I believe caring for digestive health involves much more than diagnosing and treating symptoms. It means listening carefully, understanding each patient’s unique experiences and goals, and providing compassionate, individualized care that combines the best of modern medicine with a genuine commitment to their well-being.
I strive to create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable, respected, and empowered to participate in their care. Digestive health concerns can sometimes be difficult to discuss, and I believe every patient deserves to feel heard, supported, and informed. I encourage questions, value patient input, and work collaboratively with patients and their loved ones to develop treatment plans that align with their priorities, values, and lifestyle.
Building long-term relationships is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. I entered medical school planning to pursue Family Medicine because I valued the opportunity to form lasting connections with patients and families. When I discovered gastroenterology, I found a specialty that offered both the complexity and intellectual challenge I was seeking while still allowing me to care for patients over many years. That long-term perspective continues to shape my practice, and I strive to build relationships grounded in trust, partnership, and continuity of care.
Whether a patient is coming in for a routine follow-up or managing a complex digestive condition, I take the time to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and next steps in a clear and understandable way. I believe patients should understand what is happening with their health and feel confident in the decisions we make together. My treatment philosophy emphasizes the least invasive, most effective approaches whenever possible, while regularly reviewing medications and exploring alternatives when appropriate.
I am fascinated by the complexity of the gastrointestinal system and the growing understanding of how gut health influences overall health and wellness. The field continues to evolve rapidly, with new discoveries and treatment options emerging every year. I am excited by the opportunity to bring those advances to my patients and help them achieve better health and quality of life.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, building computers, smoking brisket, and spending time outdoors.
