My journey into pulmonary and critical care medicine began long before medical school. As a child living with severe asthma, I experienced firsthand the challenges that chronic lung disease can have on patients and their families. Those experiences, along with the compassion and dedication of an exceptional pulmonologist who cared for me, inspired me to pursue this specialty. Today, it’s a privilege to care for patients with both chronic pulmonary conditions and life-threatening critical illnesses.

I believe the best care starts with listening. Every patient has a unique story, and I strive to understand not only their medical condition, but also how it affects their life, goals, and loved ones. I believe in building trusting relationships through open communication, respecting each patient’s values and preferences, and partnering together to develop thoughtful, evidence-based treatment plans. My goal is for every patient to feel heard, informed, and confident in the care we provide.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, strength training, and exploring different cultures through food and language, especially Japanese culture. Those experiences help me maintain balance, continue learning, and bring fresh perspective and compassion to the care I provide every day.
