- Family Medicine
“Family medicine allows me to know a patient within the setting of their family and community dynamics. My focus is not just improving health conditions, but how that would impact one’s functioning and lifestyle. By creating relationships and learning about an individual’s values, family doctors can more easily partner with patients to achieve their goals. I grew up in a small town on the shores of Lake Superior which gave me an appreciation for not only family medicine but community medicine. I particularly find joy in obstetrics, LGBT health care, inpatient care, and resident education.
Outside of medicine I enjoy skiing, sewing, gardening, biking, terra cycling, and spending time with my spouse and dog.”
