Lung Cancer is the number one cancer killer in the U.S. More people die from it annually than breast, colon and prostate cancer combined.
When patients go without annual screenings oftentimes their cancer isn't discovered until late stages, when the five year survival rate is incredibly low. Lung cancer screenings are covered by Medicare and most private insurers. Talk to your primary care provider to see if you should be getting an annual lung cancer screening.
