IRONMAN Foundation grant supports emergency equipment

September 07, 2017

The Kootenai Health Foundation received a $2,000 grant to support the newly expanded and remodeled emergency department at Kootenai Health. The purpose of the grant is to help fund new, cutting-edge equipment and technology most often used in emergent patient care including vital sign monitors, defibrillators, supply and procedure carts, infusion pumps, IV stands, as well as warming blankets for hypothermia patients.

This grant is part of the $60,000 the IRONMAN Foundation distributed to non-profit initiatives and groups in the greater Idaho Panhandle and Spokane regions in conjunction with the 2017 IRONMAN Coeur d’Alene triathlon.

“This grant will certainly make a difference to the over 52,000 patients served in the Kootenai Health emergency department every year,” Julie Holt, Kootenai Health Foundation president, said. “We are deeply grateful for the support from the IRONMAN Foundation.”

The IRONMAN Foundation Community Fund provides community and volunteerism grant opportunities to non-profit organizations where IRONMAN events are held. In 2017, the IRONMAN Foundation will distribute more than $1.5 million in grant funding to support the needs of IRONMAN race communities across North America.
