Kootenai Health’s Robert Colvin Named Trustee of the Year by Idaho Hospital Association
Kootenai Health is proud to announce that board member Robert “Bob” Colvin has been honored as the 2025 Trustee of the Year by the Idaho Hospital Association (IHA) during its Annual Convention. This prestigious award recognizes Bob’s exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and enduring commitment to advancing health care in North Idaho.
Bob has served as a trustee for Kootenai Health since 2016, first on the Kootenai Hospital District Board and later on the newly formed Kootenai Health, Inc. board following the organization’s transition to a 501(c)(3). Over the years, he has held key leadership roles, including Vice Chair for 5.5 years, and chaired both the Strategic Planning Committee and Compensation Committee. He also played a pivotal role on the CEO Search Committee during a critical leadership transition.
His contributions have helped shape Kootenai Health into one of the most respected regional health systems in the Northwest. Bob’s leadership has been instrumental in:
- Establishing a groundbreaking partnership with MultiCare to bring the Epic electronic health record system to North Idaho
- Developing a new multi-phased medical campus in Post Falls, beginning with a micro hospital, ASC, and medical clinics to serve a rapidly growing community
- Supporting the integration of St. Mary’s and Clearwater Valley hospitals under Kootenai’s leadership
- Overseeing the complex 501(c)(3) conversion for long-term organizational stability
- Providing steady governance during the COVID-19 pandemic and helping guide a multi-year financial turnaround
- Leading expansion projects including the Heart Center, Emergency Department, and Main Operating Room
Bob is widely respected for his ability to build consensus, champion forward-thinking strategies, and advocate for improved health care access. His thoughtful, mission-driven leadership has strengthened community trust and deepened partnerships across the state.
We are incredibly grateful for Bob’s service and proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition. Congratulations, Bob!
