Thank you for your interest in the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at Kootenai Health! We are proud to have started our program in July 2014. Since then, our program and our residents have continued to make meaningful contributions to not only the pharmacy department, but also to Kootenai Health and the community at large.

Our program offers diverse experiences in a community-based health system in northern Idaho. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships within our pharmacy department as well as with the entire healthcare team. The learning environment we have fostered is warm, welcoming, and encouraging. We pride ourselves on being accessible and approachable. As a team, our goal is to help you become a highly proficient clinician and operationally skilled pharmacist.

We believe that to do our best work, we have to take time for ourselves too. This is often through exploring our beautiful region. For those who love the outdoors, the mountainous, lake- and river-filled surroundings and regional wilderness areas provide endless opportunities to take time for recreation. Coeur d’Alene boasts numerous community activities, such as Live at Five, farmers’ markets, shop nights, the Ironman Triathlon, charity nights, and more. There are many locally owned restaurants to try, quaint shops to explore, and club activities to join. Through our residency program and our community, we offer an excellent educational experience in an environment that is both fun and fulfilling, professionally and personally.
